Where to Find The Undying Flame Quest
To initiate this Mythic Tale, players must first reach Act 3 and travel to the Kamiagata region. Heading directly north from Jogaku Temple along the winding mountain road will lead you straight to the quest giver. At the base of Mount Jogaku, you will locate the musician Yamato sitting beside a small campfire.
Speaking with Yamato triggers a cutscene where he recites the legend of a flaming blade discovered atop the frozen peak. After listening to his tale, Jin must light the campfire and prepare for the freezing climb ahead. Understanding the quest start location ensures you do not waste time searching lower-level regions of Tsushima.
How to Ascend Mt. Jogaku and Survive the Cold
Climbing Mount Jogaku introduces a unique freezing mechanic where Jin rapidly loses health if he stays away from heat sources for too long. Dueling Bettomaru and Unlocking Way of the Flame
Reaching the summit brings Jin to a remote dojo where the master Bettomaru resides. After picking up a piece of the sacred rock, Bettomaru challenges Jin to a duel to test his worthiness. Mid-way through the duel, Bettomaru ignites his blade and prompts Jin to unleash the flames on his own sword.
Defeating Bettomaru rewards Jin with Incendiary Oil and permanently unlocks the Way of the Flame move set. Descending the mountain and returning to Yamato completes the mythic questline entirely.
